The laboratories listed below conduct biobased content testing, using radiocarbon (C14) analysis, per ASTM D6866. This test determines what fraction of the organic carbon is from renewable resources (i.e., modern carbon).
ASTM D6866 testing does not provide any information regarding the biodegradability or compostability of a product. None of the laboratories listed below performs the biodegradability testing needed to demonstrate compliance with ASTM D6400 or ASTM D6868.
